RABAT, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan Football Association FRMF fired national team coach Vahid Halilhodzic on Thursday for "differences of opinion", FRMF said in a statement.
"The two parties decided to separate by mutual consent," the FRMF said.
The separation was "because of disagreements in preparing the team for the finals of the 22nd edition of the World Cup Qatar 2022," it added.
The FRMF thanked Halilhodzic for "the work done, and the qualification for Qatar World Cup, thanks to a selection of talented and promising young players".
Morocco's World Cup opening game will be against Croatia on November 23, before facing Belgium on November 27 and Canada on December 1.
